So I see some people complaining that DiGi’s causing network problem. I don’t think that’s true, my phone is on full bar right now and can make call.
The real problem is, your phone might run on dual band. GSM and WCDMA, so when it’s switching between this two, it sometimes like stuck in the middle, then you lost your signals and cant make calls.
So here im gonna share a few method to fix this problem.
1. Just turn on airplane mode, and then switch back to normal mode. It will cause the phone to connects back to either band that you are on.
2. Go to setting and change the automatic network mode into either band.
Here im only gonna show how to change in Samsung phone because I only own a old Galaxy Young.
FIrst go to your Settings.
now select Wireless and networks
Go to Mobile networks
As you can see I have my network mode selected as WCDMA only. Yours by default it should be Automatic
Now just select either GSM only or WCDMA only.
So what’s the differences of WCDMA and GSM?
GSM is basically slower, so if you have internet subscription, I’d suggest you to select WCDMA.
But if, you cant get any bar after selecting WCDMA only, that means the area you are in is not covered with WCDMA. So in that case you might wanna change back to GSM.
Most area in Malaysia is covered with WCDMA network already, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
If you want to play safe, get network all the time. Choose GSM. This is recommended for those who don’t have data plan (internet subscription)
